Prime Minister Modi Highlights Palamu’s Growth, Condemns Historical Neglect in Public Rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a public rally in Palamu, Jharkhand, voiced his concerns about the alleged neglect of the region by the Congress party. He suggested that the party’s leaders in Delhi might not even be aware of Palamu’s geographical location.

Palamu, which is home to a large population of Dalits and Adivasis, was referred to as ‘backward’ by the Congress, a term that the Prime Minister found derogatory. He stated, “People of the so-called backward area also have hopes and expectations,” emphasizing the aspirations of the people living in these areas.

The Prime Minister also addressed the issue of officials viewing postings in such areas as a form of punishment. To counter this mindset, he appointed one of the country’s top officers in Palamu, demonstrating his commitment to the development of the region.

PM Modi highlighted the significant improvement in housing in the region. He pointed out that while only 14% of the population previously lived in pucca houses, today, nearly every family in Palamu has a pucca house. This is a testament to the government’s efforts to improve the living conditions of the residents.
