In a significant political event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a massive roadshow in Kolkata, West Bengal. The roadshow, which took place ahead of the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, was a grand spectacle, drawing attention from all corners of the nation.

A Sea of Supporters

The roadshow was a 2.5-kilometer-long procession, attracting a large crowd of supporters. The BJP expects around 2 lakh attendees, aiming to influence 9 seats in the final phase of the polls. The Prime Minister’s schedule included public meetings in Ashoknagar and Jadavpur, and he also paid tributes to Subhas Chandra Bose.

High-Profile Attendees

Accompanying the Prime Minister were two key figures from the BJP – State BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari. Majumdar has been a vocal critic of the Mamata Banerjee government and has recently been in the news for his allegations against the state police. Adhikari, on the other hand, is a significant figure in the BJP’s West Bengal unit and has been actively campaigning for the party.

Traffic Advisory and Security Measures

In view of the roadshow, the Kolkata Police issued a traffic advisory to ensure smooth commuting. The movement of all types of goods vehicles was restricted in some places in Kolkata between specific hours. The advisory also stated that vehicle parking would be regulated or restricted during these hours.
