Karnataka: BJP Leader Bhaskar Rao Condemns Stone Pelting Incident During Ganesh Procession

Date:

Bengaluru, Karnataka – In response to the recent incident of stone pelting during a Ganesh procession, BJP leader and former Bengaluru Commissioner of Police Bhaskar Rao has condemned the violence and criticized the handling of the situation. Rao described the incident as a grave matter, citing it as an example of severe failures in law enforcement and public safety management.

“There are various cases of arson, fire mischief, criminal trespass, and destruction of private property,” Rao stated, highlighting the broad scope of criminal activities associated with the incident. His comments reflect the seriousness of the situation and the extensive damage caused by the unrest.

Rao attributed the disturbances to a lack of adequate preparation and effective management, emphasizing that the communal unrest could have been mitigated with better planning and preventive measures. “No doubt it is a serious thing,” Rao continued, “Only communal disturbance is attributed to a lack of preparation in handling. There has been a monumental failure.”

The stone pelting during the Ganesh procession, a significant cultural and religious event, has raised concerns about communal harmony and public safety in the region. Rao’s remarks point to the need for improved strategies to manage such events and prevent similar incidents in the future.

As investigations into the incident continue, the focus remains on addressing the causes of the unrest and implementing measures to ensure the safety and security of all community events. The criticism from Rao underscores the broader call for effective law enforcement and better preparedness to handle sensitive situations and maintain public order.
