Piyush Goyal Leads 70-Member Business Delegation to Singapore for Key Economic Talks

Date:

The fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) will be held in Singapore on August 20, during which India and Singapore will review the progress made in bilateral cooperation and consider new areas of collaboration. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is visiting Singapore from August 19-21, 2026, for high-level engagement under the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR).

The Indian delegation will include Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State for Commerce and Industry as well as Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada.

The fourth India-Singapore Business Roundtable (ISBR) will be held alongside the ISMR, followed by the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). The program will conclude with a luncheon hosted by Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister for all ISMR and ISBR delegates.

A delegation of around 70 senior Indian business leaders is visiting Singapore with Mr. Goyal to strengthen trade ties between India and Singapore. The delegation includes representatives from key sectors such as technology, manufacturing, finance, healthcare, agriculture, and logistics.

Singapore is a key economic partner and a major source of FDI for India. In the 2025-26 fiscal year, India received USD 19.8 billion in FDI from Singapore, while total investment from April 2000 to March 2026 stood at USD 194.68 billion, accounting for 24.72% of India’s total FDI.

India-Singapore trade has witnessed a rapid increase following the CECA. Bilateral trade rose from USD 6.7 billion in the 2004-05 fiscal year to USD 36.1 billion in 2025-26. Singapore is India’s largest trading partner within ASEAN and also a major source of investment.

During the visit, the Indian business delegation will hold Business-to-Business (B2B), Government-to-Business (G2B), and institutional meetings, including interactions with key Centres of Excellence (COEs) and visits to skill development institutes. The objective is to foster investment, partnerships, market access, technical collaboration, and talent development.

During this period, Goyal will hold G2B meetings with senior representatives from the Global Finance & Technology Network, YPO Global, Milken Institute, Keppel Infrastructure, Temasek Holdings, IHH Healthcare, and other leading institutions. This will be followed by a Family Office Roundtable.

This visit reaffirms India’s commitment to further deepening trade, investment, and people-to-people ties with Singapore, as well as strengthening cooperation in key sectors such as advanced manufacturing, digitalization, skills, and the green economy.
