Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed a Business Roundtable Meeting in Cyprus, highlighting India’s growing economic potential and inviting global investors to explore opportunities across key sectors. The interaction brought together prominent business leaders, investors and industry representatives from Cyprus and the wider European region.

During his address, the Prime Minister underlined India’s position as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies, driven by structural reforms, policy stability and a strong focus on innovation. He emphasised the government’s commitment to improving ease of doing business, strengthening infrastructure and promoting manufacturing under initiatives such as Make in India and Digital India.

Modi also spoke about emerging opportunities in sectors including renewable energy, information technology, fintech, logistics, ports, tourism and start-ups. He highlighted India’s large consumer base, skilled workforce and rapidly expanding digital ecosystem as key advantages for international investors.

The Prime Minister encouraged deeper economic engagement between India and Cyprus, noting the potential for cooperation in trade, investment, shipping, financial services and green energy. He also stressed the importance of resilient global supply chains and partnerships based on mutual growth and trust.

Business leaders present at the roundtable shared their views on expanding collaboration with India and expressed interest in exploring long-term investment opportunities. The meeting marked another step in strengthening India’s economic diplomacy and expanding ties with European partners.
